"I use the latest trauma thinking to slowly develop your awareness of how your experiences have affected you, help you feel safer in your surroundings, and feel like you can enjoy life more".
Areas of trauma that I work with
Trauma happens when, as adults or children, we experience disturbing events beyond our control. Our minds and bodies can become 'stuck' in the traumatic experience, affecting how we function in present relationships, at work, and in our lives generally.
Some areas of trauma that I work with are described below.

Post-traumatic stress/PTSD
Post-traumatic stress isn't really a disorder because there's nothing wrong with you if you struggle with it. It's a normal response to traumatic events such as war, terrorism, natural disaster, or assault.
I use latest trauma thinking and neuroscience-based methods to slowly to build your awareness of how your experiences have affected you, help you feel safer in your body and surroundings, and develop your post-traumatic healing and growth.
Complex trauma/C-PTSD
Post-traumatic stress becomes more complex when experienced within abusive relationships either as a child (e.g. sexual abuse or psychological and emotional neglect) or adult (e.g. coercive control, narcissistic abuse).
Because these experiences feel inescapable and are repeated over a period of time, they have a huge impact on self-esteem and identity. And the violation and betrayal of trust involved can have deeply fundamental impact on a person's sense of safety in body, environment, and relationships.
Never feeling good enough and constantly under pressure to please for people to like you, are signs that you experienced emotional abuse or neglect as a child.
Having worked with survivors of childhood trauma, I can promise a safe and validating experience.
Family estrangement
Family estrangement often happens following abuse (physical, sexual, or psychological) within a family. Having worked with estranged adults who were also abuse survivors, I recognise that the decision to estrange might feel like survival and self-protection rather than a free choice. Feelings of isolation are common as there is societal stigma.
With lived experience of estrangement, I promise a non-judgemental space for you to explore, process, and reflect on your experiences and complex feelings.

Stress & trauma in the modern workplace
Workplaces have definitely become more volatile and stressful in recent years, which can often trigger any past trauma we've experienced.
At the same time, issues like bullying, harassment, performance measurement, or a toxic work culture create stress and anxiety which can leave you feeling burnt out, unsafe, fearful and threatened.
Having worked in a high pressure career myself for many years, I understand how stressful and triggering it can be. I can help you to untangle the impacts of your experiences at work.
